Subject: Medical Cannabis reform
Dear Mr. Maier and to whom it may concern,
The fact that we are still discussing the subject of medical cannabis access in SLO is proof that the board and county
have shrugged off the issue by trying to over regulate and essentially outlaw our cannabis community. Even though we
Californians gained the right to safe access in 1996 prop 215 enacted in 97.
Environmental impacts and other small negative reflections are not grounds for complete closure of real
cannabusinesses especially due to the fact that these licensed businesses are currently open and willing to help form
rules an guidelines for the future alongside the local representatives. We look forward to forming a closer relationship
and come together for the betterment of our community.
If the ban on operations an cultivations prevails, we will see a jump in crime and marijuana arrests due to an
economy now marked illegal by your rulings. You will effectively criminalize more than just the people here tonight. We
need to move forward and regulate not exterminate.
Best regards,
Brandon Parker
