I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with the Planning Commission remarks made this evening. After
this meeting, I truly believe that you will be able to derive for San Luis a a truly great project.
We really need MUCH more affordable and workforce housing. When I say workforce, I am talking about
teachers, nurses, secretaries, plumbers, computer techs, etc. I hope that affordable will take care of caregivers,
waitresses, etc.
I have mentioned the need for much more workforce housing numerous at City Council meetings, pointing out
that the 1.2million price tag above Couch Potato and 1.8million brownstones on Marsh, next to the old French
Hospital are not what I consider "workforce ". I have been chastised by Carlyn Christensen on two occasions
when she told me that doctors and lawyers are part of the workforce too. I hope that your definition of
workforce is closer to my definition than Carlyn's.
Again, thank you for listening to both sides and coming up with a good vision for this corner.
