There is a property for sale at 71 Palomar. Currently, the property is still owned by the fraternity Delta Tau. I visited the site and property last weekend. This location will indeed make a fabulous neighborhood park! The elevation of the site will give residents a wonderful view and provide enough space for benches and picnic area. Plants could be indigenous and drought - friendly. Perhaps there could even be a bocce ball court in the design? It came to my attention that this site is already in escrow by LR Development out of El Segundo. The proposed 41 -unit apartment complex in this R -1 neighborhood would negatively impact the traffic on Broad, Serrano, Luneta and all nearby streets. It would also have a negative impact on the character of the established neighborhood and on our city's water supply. Please advocate for a neighborhood park at 71 Palomar rather than the huge apartment complex that will drastically and permanently change the neighborhood and the safety of our streets for bicyclists and pedestrians. The beautiful site already includes mature trees and a historic old farmhouse that could complement the park concept. With a selling price just over $2.5 million, I believe that this would be expensive but a very wise expenditure of City funds. It would also give residents an alternative to Santa Rosa Park that is popular with a different demographic, given the success of the new skate park. Please feel free to contact me in the event that you have any questions about this proposal. Sincerely, Mila Vujovich -La Barre 650, line Drive; San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 Fi=- Mila Vujovich -La Barre
