There is mention of possible second northbound and southbound lanes being added to the Buckley Road/227 intersection. However, there is no mention of the current AND future need for stop lights on 227 at Fiero Lane, Aerovista Lane, Crestmont Drive and Biddle Road, all which will be impacted by the additional cars of the ranch's residents. If you calculate that 720 homes will bring a minimum of one car per home, and perhaps 50% of those homes having a second car, that brings us to over 1,000 cars added to an already crowded morning and evening weekday commute. So, let's say there will be about 1,000 cars needing to use South Higuera Street and 227 as residents leave the Avila Ranch to go to and from work or shopping. This number doesn't even reflect guests visiting these residents. I drive home on 227 at 4:30 on weekdays and there is already a backup of cars on this route. On the 4 streets I mentioned above, I can't even imagine how drivers leave these streets to turn left onto 227 into the steady stream of cars flowing north and south on 227. I believe that if Avila Ranch is adding this many cars to the traffic, it is the development owners responsibility to provide stop lights at these 4 intersections which will be impacted by a minimum of 720 cars, but reasonably, more like a 1,000 cars. Please consider this as it will be a tremendous impact on a commute that is already backed up by 4:30 p.m. every day, Monday through Friday. Thank you for listening to my proposal.
