We are writing in opposition to the proposed Avila Ranch LLC housing plan. We are 25 -
year residents of Evans Road, which is located close by Buckley Road and the
proposed housing development. The issues that concern us are: traffic issues and
increased congestion around South Higuera Street at Los Osos Valley Road, and the
Highway 101 interchange; the impact on local schools and the quality of education for
our kids due to the rapid population increase as compared to the rate of hiring new
teachers in the San Luis Coastal School District; and the impact on our water supply
and rates.
We suggest that the name of the project be reconsidered because it is misleading. The
name Avila Ranch leads people to believe the proposed project is in Avila Beach.
