COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I respectfully request that you consider the following before advising continuation of the Avila Ranch Project.
Section 9.1.4. States that development does not proceed needed infrastructure improvements. At last month's
meeting, it appears that the only thing to be improved prior to starting construction, or finishing after phase one,
was the bike route. This is not enough. As someone who lives off of (Evans Road); works on (Strasbaugh);
and bikes on Buckley daily, this is a far cry from fixing the problems. Given the fact that soon another
company will be occupying part of the Strasbaugh building (more cars), and more commercial space is under
construction (even more cars), adding more housing prior to connecting Buckley to South Higuera is not good
planning.
It would be far more responsible for the City to finish the infrastructure promises already planned, like
straightening Buckley, fixing Santa Fe at Tank Farm, and dealing with Prado Road. Adding more congestion is
not in the people'she best interest.
Thank you for your consideration.
