Commission Members,
RECEIVED
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
MAR 21 2016
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Unfortunately, we cannot attend your meeting, but we did want to weigh in on this important
proposal.
My wife and I have lived at 2046 San Luis Dr., for the past 30 years directly across the creek
from the proposed project on the Motel Inn site. I believe we are the residents closest to this
project. We are also long time RVers, so we are familiar with the operation, activities and
aesthetics of commercial RV parks.
We are strongly in support of this project.
The proposed hotel is exactly right for that site: low rise, low density, inwardly -focused, with a
nod to the Motel Inn's unique history. The architecture captures the spirit of the historic hotel
while still being functional and up to date. This is just what San Luis Obispo needs.
Well-managed, attractive RV parks, as we feel certain this will be, are a plus for a neighborhood,
a city, and for the park's neighbors. Most RVers are older, like to socialize with just a few
friends, and don't stay up very late. The parks are usually very peaceful and quiet, especially at
night, and, if someone does get noisy, park management acts quickly to quiet them down. In our
opinion, especially a small one like this presents no threat to us or other neighbors.
We urge you to allow this project proceed.
Thank you for your consideration, and for all the work you do for the city.
Dave and Sandy Garth
