I've just been notified that there is a CHC meeting to review the proposed relocation of the house. I'm concerned about the nature of the development, and specifically that the relocation of the house and development of the property would have a significant negative impact on the historic value of this house. The Cultural Heritage Committee Agenda Report failed to include details about how the house was deliberately constructed in its present location to support the surrounding landscape. That is, the location of the house on the property was a significant consideration when the house was built, as was the surrounding landscape. This documentation was somehow omitted from the report. In addition, there was no mention of the owls that have been observed nesting in the trees that would be cut down should the house be relocated. Furthermore, there is apparently no guarantee that the house can be moved without it being destroyed in the process, given its size, construction type and foundation. This needs to be addressed in detail. I would like additional time to look into the history of this house. Unfortunately, I was not given notice of the CHC meeting in a timely manner. Residents are required to have 10 days' notice of such meetings. I was given only 6 days' notice — not enough time. (The notice was delivered on 3/22/16. The notice was clearly mailed late). For these reasons, I am requesting that the CHC review of the project at 71 Palomar be postponed to a later date. In addition, I request that my above points be addressed. Please reply to this email to confirm that you have received it and what action will be taken. Thank you. Al Lipper
