Obviously one of the main reasons we chose this area is because it is perfect for families and the area is a known commodity— thanks in part to the general plan of the city. I understand that SLO Brew is petitioning to hold live outdoor events on weekends that may run as late as 10:00 or 11:00 PM. To me, and many of my neighbors, this is extremely upsetting. We already hear the live events at the Tap Room and now we are looking at late night event. It is unfortunate that SLO Brew had to shut down and relocate. However, it is not up to the residence of this area to take the brunt of their business decisions. Instead of moving to an area extremely close to residential, they should have made other arrangements in a facility that more closely resembles their old location. I love downtown and live music —just not in my backyard. If I want to enjoy music or be around college age students drinking until midnight and beyond, I will go downtown. SLO Brew should not expect an entire section of town to adjust to them. I would not move my family downtown and expect restaurants to shut down at 9:00 PM so my daughter can get to sleep. I am a business owner in SLO County and would not expect the City or County to make modifications to a general plan — that thousands of people have used to make their property buying decisions —to insure that I can run my business. It is my opinion that there are going to be plenty of issues with drunk drivers, now driving all the way across town, instead of walking home or taking taxi/Ubers. This type of business needs to be located in the area that can support the activities and the side effects of such an establishment. Again, I have spent many nights enjoying downtown from my Cal Poly days in the 80's and 90's to the present — but having this reach out 227 is not a good idea. Thank you. T, GR0UN0(_0N'1R0[.
