C- From: Peg Pinard / ' (P Subject: 1516 Broad St. 6L tL SS Date: March 28, 2016 at 4:36 PM To: Peg Pinard 5—v/ CJ,rT— mvT-0l'TTlf►= There are two remaining issues with this project. One is the access to the rear utility pole and the second is the roof pitch. Before your last hearing, we inquired about power access then and were never given a response. POWER ACCESS When we restored our Master listed historic home at 743 Buchon, we were required to use the utility pole in the front of our building. We went even one further and, though not required to do so, we undergrounded the utility lines as you can see in Picture #1. All the overhead wires to 743 Buchon go down that pole and are underground to the building. Since then, and for over 30 years, the city has a policy of under grounding utility lines in order to remove visual blight. We did our part. Now, the city is not requiring this developer to access his front pole and underground his own power. Instead, Picture #2 is what is being proposed at the acceptable alternative... adding to the visual blight for the rest of us! The rear of 1516 Broad St. is approximately 15' from that power pole. In other words, that pole is well into our property and there is no access easement through our property to get there. What you see before you was done illegally and by trespassing on our property. This trespass has got to stop and cannot be condoned by the city, or any city committee. Let me repeat.... PG&E has no access easement through our property to access that pole. PG&E admitted that they never recorded an easement. The owner's problem could be solved by taking responsibility for his own development and under grounding the power from the front of his property. Otherwise, he's basically telling the rest of us that he'll protect his own view by of ours. SOLAR ACCESS The second issue is the one of solar access. It is an improvement that the owner says he lowered the roofline by 5'. However, the plans continue to show a 12 and 12 pitch. Since the base height is the __.Y_ L__:_ -__.Y_L_...-.IJ L-11 .._..
