Dear Mayor Marx,
Please vote in favor of the night club use for SLO Brew's The Rock.
I live in San Luis Obispo and have been enjoying live music at all venues throughout the County for 20
years. My favorite venue for dancing and sharing music with friends (in a setting where it is ok to stand
towards the back and visit/chat) was SLO Brew, downtown. When SLO Brew was moving and closing, I
was excited that this wonderful form of entertainment would continue. I was then disappointed to learn
the scale back of the new SLO Brew was not going to retain the "music club" activities and ambience
that SLO Brew on Garden Street offered. As luck would have it, my faith in our community to support a
live music and event venue was restored when I learned that SLO Brew was planning to build this into
their new brewing facility, The Rock, on Aerovista Place. I have watched The Rock's structure grow up
out my office window in the Aerovista Business Complex with excitement and enthusiasm. What a great
place for a club/concert venue! Lots of parking after business hours both in the lot and on the street, far
enough away from other smaller businesses and residences that its use will be compatible with
neighbors, and any noise will be tempered by existing sounds of Broad Street and the Airport. I can't
wait until I can wdnder from work to sip a beer, visit with friends and then dance my tail off to a great
band, a perfect SLO evening!
Please vote in favor of the night club use.
