Subject: SLO Brew 'The Rock"
Interesting that now they realize there was a flaw in the noticing of the project and the homeowners along
Hwy 227 weren't notified correctly. The article in the Tribune was actually the first most of us heard about it.
I like to believe and trust our city council, that they are truly representing the "people." This is a wonderful
example of how things just happen and we "the people" don't know about it.
Below is a copy of the original email we sent on March 2 to the Council expressing our concern about "The
Rock".
We heard awhile ago that SLO Brew was going to be at Aerovista Place. We don't have a problem with them
being there, as a brewery and restaurant.
We live on Snapdragon Way, which is across 227 off Pointsettia. Even though it may look like it is far away,
noise travels as we have been experiencing with a VRBO behind our property. We can't believe you are
actually considering outdoor concerts of 600 people at SLO Brew. It would be a nightclub in our backyard.
Why do this? There are plenty event venues in the county with several being downtown. We are also concerned
that you have approved so many beer, wine, bar businesses downtown and now you want to take them out of
downtown too! We can't imagine 600 people on Broad, coming and going to a concert, drinking and many not
having designated drivers.
It is also interesting that those of us who live over here on the other side of 227 did not know about this concert
venue until it was in the paper. I would like to think you care enough for the people who voted for you in to let
them know what is going on in their neighborhoods instead of making it all about growth and money.
What are you thinking? Please, please, please don't approve the permit for events.
