Thank you. 616 Mission SLO, Ca. 93405 I am writing to express my concern about our water supply and the huge amount of development in the City of San Luis Obispo, both infill and the surrounding property, that seems to be continually annexed into the city. San Luis Obispo needs to slow down on the issuance of building permits in light of the drought, Climate Change, evaporation and our uncertainty about the amount of water needed for the addition of many future residential, business and mixed-use developments. You have a duty to the present residents of our city and a tiered system of building permits, like that of Pismo Beach, would be wise to institute now. Although the Water Forum was somewhat informative, it did not reassure residents of our future water supply since scientists studying Climate Change have recently noted its acceleration. Another item which you have the responsibility to require is that all development, small (anything over a triplex) or large, provide the information about how many acre feet of water each project will require prior to proceeding to the ARC or PC for approval. A mandatory water supply/demand assessment needs to be instituted now. The cost of each assessment should be paid for by the developers, not the taxpayers of SLO. Please consider adding this step as you are charged with insuring the well-being, safety and health of our community. Thank you. Sincerely, Cheryl McLean
