The Sandford House on the Historic Master List being moved from its original foundation and location on the historic site is unacceptable. The house is well over one hundred years old and moving it is risky and may well result in the destruction of this historic gem. It also goes against the recommendations in Secretary of the Interior's Guidelines and Standards specifically addressing moving a Master Listed Historic building from its original foundation. The setting of the stately historic home on its prominent site in combination with the aesthetics of architectural design, canopy of approximately fifty historic trees and breathtaking vistas looking across the the Santa Lucias is unique and exudes a feeling of time long ago in San Luis Obispo. The clear -cutting of forty nine magnificent historic trees, homes to many red -shouldered hawks, red-tailed hawks, owls and other birds and insects, would be a desecration of beauty and valuable habitat and a lack of consideration regarding Climate Change. Sincerely, Professor Brent LaMon, Ph.D Social Science Department Cuesta College San Luis Obispo
