Subject: TC communication --71 Palomar --Request to Place on Agenda in Favor of Saving 49 Trees
We respectfully request that your committee review the proposed tree removal of 49 beautiful old oaks and other
trees at 71 Palomar—as once had been on the agenda. We, along with other neighbors and city residents, are deeply
dismayed that this item was stea4hily removed from the June 27 meeting, raising suspicion that the city has little regard
for ethical due processes and decision-making, for the natural beauty of its streets, for the quality of life in our
neighborhoods, and that indeed it cares far more about revenue generated by developers.
That the study of the Palomar trees, which had been placed on the June 27 agenda, disappeared is now a well-publicized
fact, increasing animosity, distrust, and division between city government and city residents. Please see this opinion
piece in the Tribune. blta://"www.sanluisobis;)o.comLopinionJjetters -to-the-editor/article89181997.html.
To offset this rancor and attempt to re-establish goodwill and cooperation, we request that the Tree Committee be
allowed to review the proposed project.
Thank you,
Tom and Ann Neumann
