Dear commissioners,
RECEIVED
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
AUG 01 2016
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
One of the reasons my family loves SLO is the access to open space. Mountain biking, hiking or a quick run are
all easily accessible from almost anywhere in town. This is just one reason that 1 support the 71 Palomar
project. I would rather see smart infill than see projects that expand into the surrounding open space for the
housing that this town so desperately needs. This project seems like it takes into consideration all the planning
measure the city has put in place and is respectful of the neighborhood character. I love that the historic home
on site will be preserved and featured prominently. Many of the comments I have read in the paper seem to
focus on the trees. Personally, I'm a fan of there removal. It looks like the majority are eucalyptus which are not
native and have had the tops cut so they look funny. It looks like the developer has plans to plant more that will
fit in with the project and keep the landscaping nice for all to enjoy.
Thank you,
Kathleen Allwine
