Tearing out perfectly good terrain to build crappy apartments is a crime, if we must have such junk in our town then at least it ought to be done on raw ground. And if we must have this sort of 'progress' at least make it less obnoxious than the usual Nazi type block bunkers that developers love to build. Your name implies some sort of sensitivity to aesthetic design yet over the 45 years I have lived here what is allowed, often in charming neighborhoods, is the sort of stuff one expects to see in the San Fernando Valley or Bakersfield. Is that the best you can do? Imposing/allowing this sort of development in that neighborhood strikes me as against city policy in maintaining quality neighborhoods. My own neighborhood has been degraded by ugly stucco monsters totally out of character with existing homes, and recently a grossly overpriced housing tract has sprung up to further a loss of quality of life and increased traf f ic.
