Your role in our City and its continual evolution is quite important. I am sure at times it can feel like a thankless endeavor, but I am certainly thankful for what you do. I wanted to take a minute to write to you in support of 22 Chorro. I was able to attend a meeting in which a large group of us were able to review the proposed project. As someone concerned with sustainability and smart development, I was quite thrilled with this project. The bike centric model and utilization of space is very appealing. It would be such a great improvement to that specific site. Not to mention it falls right in line with our General Plan and the need for housing. There really are no downsides to this project. It is a great area for students and young professionals, has no view shed obstructions, and is a phenomenally efficient use of space. I have lived in SLO the majority of my 37 years on this planet and one thing I have learned is cities are constantly changing. We all know change can be difficult, but it is part of evolution. Our city is no different than any other organism. If it grows too quickly it is called cancer, if it doesn't grow at all it becomes stagnant and dies. Maintaining a sustainable balance is the key to any healthy city/organism. Currently we are out of balance. Being the 6th most unaffordable city in the United States demonstrates this. I know many SLO residents that feel like projects like this can help bring our housing deficit back in to balance. Thank you so much for you time, Aaron Gomez www.GomezSLO.com Aaron Gomez for City Council PO BOX 14423 SLO 93406 Meeting: PC 08-24-2016 Public Comment
