I believe we are at a critical stage of a lack of housing of all style and types in San Luis Obispo. After review of the staff report, it basically states that this development has been designed to be consistent with the Community Design Guidelines as well as the Margarita Are Specific Plan and is in "substantial compliance". With the exception of a street yard setback reduction of approx. 5 feet there are no other exceptions requested. I believe the applicant is following the City guidelines/requirements and should not be penalized for doing so. The staff report indicated a pre development meeting was held in March and the applicant returned trying to address those concerns conveyed at that meeting. It is my opinion that developers need to be able to build to allowed densities, have city guidelines/requirements such as height, set backs, parking etc ... that will give them some assurance that if they meet those established development rules, it should allow them to move forward. Thank you for your time and consideration, I hope you can support this and move it along. Steve Delmartini
