Subject:Bishop Street Studios proposed use
As a close‐by resident (2263 Flora St.) of TMHA's proposed property usage to furnish housing (Transitions‐Mental Health
Association) for local clients, I am completely in support of the project. OF all the proposals that have been advanced for
the parcel, this is the best by far.
First, if approved, the studios will provide affordable housing with no cost to the community. Second, the housing will
serve a woefully neglected segment of the county's population and offer them safe, affordable living quarters. Public
transportation is within easy walking distance.
I had a son with mental illness; I was a board member of the Mental Health Association; believe me ‐ this county has a
lot of catching up to do on this issue and we pay for it daily. The clients who will live in the studios are our children and
we have an obligation to do right by them. Approve this project.
