Subject: The Demolition of the Creamery
Mayor, City Councilmembers and SLO CITY STAFF:
This project to fill in the parking lots of the historic Creamery with four-story buildings is simply a travesty and
since it does not adhere to the General Plan or abide by the Community Design Guide Lines, it is not even
recognizing the Downtown Concept Plan. Therefore, it should never have left the desks of the City Planning
Staff and therefore, it should not even be considered at this level by the CHC.
This letter is being sent to all employees of the City of SLO as all are not doing their jobs appropriately. They
have been selected by the citizens of SLO but they are not listening or reading what the citizens of our town
want for our downtown. Have any of you walked or driven by two of the large projects that this group has
approved??? That is, the housing in the parking lot on Osos Street, or the Expensive Condo Housing on upper
Marsh Street? Have you noticed that the structures are TOO CLOSE to the sidewalks,,, that there is NO SPACE
between the facades and the sidewalks, that there are NO TREES involved? These are definitely not in the
proper scale of our small historical town.
I suggest that ALL members of this group be voted OUT of OFFICE this Fall or else they should be FIRED!!!
