Item—
We have a scheduled hearing tomorrow evening for the establishment of a sorority house at 190
Stenner Street. This is a new sorority for Cal Poly and being such, have a relatively small
membership to date. Through advise from Cal Poly and other established sororities in the City,
Alpha Gamma Delta have prepared a much more detailed description of the use of the facility in
the attached letter for your reference.
Please note that Cal Poly has an established bus transportation service from campus to off
campus sites exclusively for recruitment activities. Alpha Gamma Delta will be utilizing this bus
service so there should be negligible impact on parking in the neighborhood for the larger
'special events'. In addition, it will be the policy of the Sorority to direct all members attending
on site activities to either walk, bike or be dropped off on site.
Please review the attached letter and a representative from their organization will be on hand to
answer any additional questions you may have.
Regards

Dear Kyle Bell:
As our Alpha Gamma Delta Delta Phi Chapter becomes more established on campus, I wanted to
provide you with an updated memo that gives you a better understanding of our proposed use for
190 Stenner Street, 194A Stenner Street and 194B Stenner Street. Please know that we
understand that any activities held on the property will follow all conditions presented by the City of
San Luis Obispo. We will be respectful of max occupancy, parking on and around Stenner Street as
well as any noise ordinances and/or curfews that the City requires. We were attracted to and
ultimately chose this property because of its close proximity to Cal Poly and the ability of our
members living off-site, the vast majority of our chapter, to walk there and not have to compete with
neighbours or residents for parking.
The proposed use description is as follows:
1. 190 Stenner Street (the front unit) will be used as a common gathering place for the back
apartment residents as well as a guest quarters.
2. The proposed activities for 190 Stenner Street include the common area being used as a
multi -function space for the following activities:
■ Resident dinners (7 occupants)
■ Study lounge for residents (7 occupants)
• Guest quarters for Alpha Gamma Delta visiting staff (no more than 1-2 staff
members at a time, 2 times a year)
• Executive Council bi-weekly meetings (14 members)
• Executive Council officer training (14 members, once a year in January)
• Weekly Committee meetings (15 members)
3. 194A Stenner Street and 194B Stenner Street will only be used as housing for select
members of Alpha Gamma Delta - Delta Phi Chapter of San Luis Obispo California
Polytechnic State University. (7 occupants)
4. The proposed activity for the back apartments is limited to living quarters for 7 select
members only. All four bedrooms, both kitchens and both living room areas will be fully
furnished by Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity Housing Corporation.
5. Fall Recruitment will be held in the front house and back of the driveway
