HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-18-2016 Item 20, Ayral (2) To: Subject: Gallagher, Carrie RE: 22 Chorro COUNCIL MEETING: 10 it I ITEM NO.: From: On Behalf Of Odile Ayral Sent: Monday, October 17, 2016 3:27 PM To: E-mail Council Website <emailcouncil@slocity.or > Subject: 22 Chorro Dear Mayor Marx and Council Members, F1E1 7 2016 Y CLERK I am very concerned that 25 of the emails in support of the project at 22 Chorro had the same single line (I am writing to support the project at 22 Chorro), and did not provide any address. Furthermore, they were all sent on Sunday night between 7:30pm and 7:33pm. As I googled a few names, I found that the emails had been sent by Cal Poly students. I understand that Cal Poly students are disquieted by the lack of housing in SLO, but they should put pressure upon Cal Poly instead of urging you to build a development way out of proportion with its surroundings. If they had done their homework, they would be able to understand why this development is dangerous and clashes with the direct neighborhood. Considering that the developer will have the opportunity to make a long presentation in his favor, I would like to ask you to require that any speaker who has a conflict of interest (such as financial or family connection with the project) announce it before speaking. The public has the right to know who is speaking on behalf of the residents, and who is speaking on behalf of the developer. Thank you.
