Victoria Olson Samata Management, Inc. 604 Henderson Avenue, Suite 200 San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 Ph: 805.597.5196 Fax: 805.597.5199 October 17, 2016 City of San Luis Obispo Office of the City Clerk 990 Palm Street San Luis Obispo CA 93401 Re: Ordinance 1517, San Luis Obispo Tourism Business Improvement District Dear Council Members: Our customers and our businesses are compelled to contribute funding for this committee. The expectation is that each constituent would benefit in fair measure. We regret that these standards have not been recognized by the Council and do not approve of any continued assessment. At the time this committee was established, our industry had given its endorsement but stipulated that any such committee membership would be determined by the constituents and would be representative of our industry's ownership. The Council has chosen to exclude legitimate representatives in an irresponsible manner that hurts our community. We also regret that the marketing of San Luis Obispo is concentrated on upper and upper-mid level hospitality properties as opposed to economy level, of which our property is a part. Sincerely, Robert F.
