COUNCIL MEETING: lv Zp
ITEM NO.:.

SLO CITY CLERIC
Council Members,
I'm writing to simply ask you to support the Planning Commission decision to deny the development of 22 Chorro St.
The proposed development of 4 stories is hugely incompatible with the surrounding 1 -story neighborhood of single-
family homes and businesses.
If built, it would be one of those buildings you drive by and think to yourself "I wonder who thought THAT looked
good!?"
In addition, it has a zero foot setback instead of the required 20 feet.
Of course, the parking is entirely inadequate in a city where each student typically has a car, there are only 33 spaces for
over 90 potential residents.
It's not like there's an urgent need to build more student housing in this location. It's simply an investment for an out-
of-town investor. It does little for SLO. If the developer wants to propose something that fits within city guidelines and
works for the neighborhood, that's fine.
But the proposed development is just excessive.
Please vote to sustain the decision of the Planning Commission.
Thanks.
