This corner is not the location to cram a badly designed project, without pedestrian continuity along the sidewalk, in order to get some more student housing and a few low-income units. I object to the placement of the appeal at the end of a very long agenda - item 20 - which is tantamount to favoritism to the developer. The public, especially the affected neighborhood, is not served at all by requiring their attendance well into an evening, when a later date and earlier time would be possible. Lastly, I object to the staff contradicting the Planning Commission's denial of the project, instead making a recommendation for approval. This is again a sign of favoritism to the developer. Staff would better serve the community doing a strategic plan for creating better, viable housing areas for modest increases in density. Thank you for considering my comments.
