ITEM NO.: 113 From: on behalf of Odile Ayral < Sent: Monday, November 14, 2016 9:24 AM To: E-mail Council Website Subject: Item 13 RECEIVED NOV 14 2016 Dear Mayor Marx and Council Members, SLO CITY CLERK_ Please, support the City Staff in its recommendation to deny the signage exceptions requested by Discovery downtown. The Staff is not known for their inflexibility when it comes to exceptions, and when they do, it means that serious issues have taken precedence. It is therefore difficult to understand why the ARC, a group that is supposed to ensure that regulations are respected, should be so easily ready to grant special privileges to one particular downtown tenant, and start a proliferation of signs. Regulations on this point are very clear, and "in no case may the maximum number or size of signs, or their illumination levels, exceed the standards provided by Section 15.40.460." Please, uphold the appeal that is now presented to you. Thank you. Odile Ayral San Luis Obispo
