I write today to inform you that this coming Tuesday, November 15th, myself and three other Cal Poly students will be
coming to the City Council meeting to speak during open forum about our concerns regarding pedestrian lighting in San
Luis Obispo, specifically in the student -dense neighborhoods surrounding the Cal Poly campus. We will speak in
succession, each student presenting ideas during the allotted three minute time slot. Our focus on the issue involving a
lack of pedestrian lighting stemmed from our Small Group Communication class assignment to find a problem and solve
it. We will be presenting surveys, petition reactions, data, and research revolving around Cal Poly students' feelings
regarding their safety at night relative to the amount of street light. Please let me know if there are any additional steps
we need to take before presenting our ideas during the City Council Open Forum on November 15th at 6:00 pm.
