First, on the north or south side of foothill there are no buildings higher than two stories for least a mile in either direction. As such the building will, besides the obvious blocking of the views from the residential community south of the building on Chorro and Rougeot, look extremely poorly sited among buildings less than half of its height. It will be a huge icon on the corner not a structure that integrates with buildings within the close proximity, certainly not the SFD's across the street on Chorro. Second, while using cultural engineering as a byword the developer is not providing ample parking for the proposed residents and commercial spaces proposed. This IMHO is a recipe -for disaster to the residential community south of the proposed project which are already maxed out for street parking. This lack of parking continues in a southerly direction to include Meineke Street and Chorro street. While we all recognize the need for more college parking I believe this particular site is not suitable for a four story (plus roof deck) height building. It may be better sited on Santa Rosa or perhaps the North side of Foothill. Some concern is greatly needed for the full time non transitory residents near a building like this.
