Dear Park and Recreation Commissioners,

Like others who have commented on the lack of the North Broad area park acquisition in your park goals plan, I
don't understand why the Parks Department continues to shove this item out of your planning documents EVEN
AFTER THE CITY COUNCIL HAS APPROPRIATED FUNDS FOR ACQUISITION AND MADE
ACQUISITION A TOP GOAL FOR THE CITY.
Neighbors have been promised this park since the 1970s. It is the city's only existing neighborhood that's park -
deprived and in need of a park, per your current P&R General Plan Element. Yet other park developments
constantly get put in front of it and this park never happens.
Residents have fought hard to get a park in this part of town. The City Council has agreed with us that we
should have one. We'd appreciate your including it explicitly in your current planning. To do otherwise would
simply be insubordinate to the City Council's directives.
Thank you.
