Dear Architectural Review Commission,12/4/2016
RECEIVED
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
DEC 0 5 2016
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I am writing to express my concern about the proposed development at 22 Chorro. The size of the development is not
compatible with the adjacent neighborhood which is mostly one-story houses and businesses. A four story building is too tall
for this side of Foothill.
The exterior design of the building does not blend well with the neighborhood. With limited set backs the development will
have the appearance of a looming monolith that will over shadow other buildings in the neighborhood and block views of Cerro
San Luis.
Also, I have concern about the design of the bedrooms, which have a set of double doors. Double doors don't seem necessary
and have been used at another development in town to double the occupancy post -construction.
The footprint of the property is tricky for development, and I realize that the developer has the right to make a profit.
However, a two to three story building with greater set backs and without a roof top garden is more appropriate for this
neighborhood.
Please reject the proposed development at 22 Chorro.
