Pursue a new park in the North Broadway area. Inclusion of this goal by Parks and Recreation will demonstrate to Council that your goals are aligned with the City Strategic Plan 4.3.2. Please share with your Commissioners the history of the General Plan statement to provide a park in the North Broad Area which has not been fulfilled in 40 years. Residents would appreciate not being forgotten in your goal setting! Consider a notation in your minutes to record information that the allotment of $900,000 was earmarked by City Council toward this park when excess Measure Y monies were dispersed June 14, 2016. Thank you. Parks are the fabric of good neighborhoods in good cities. I live in the area of Throop Park at Pacheco playground and am always pleased to see children. How special for families to bicycle here instead of driving across town or crossing busy city streets. A park is a way for families to connect; it may provide the element in a neighborhood that keeps families in San Luis Obispo. Families in some areas are such a minority because too many neighborhoods are otherwise inhabited by dozens of college students. Thank you all for your service to the community and I wish you best of luck with a water allotment for grassy areas—and especially to keep trees alive! Camille Small San Luis Obispo
