Then it is a done deal, the " City of San Luis Obispo ", will continue with
the sin of, destroying American farmland. pushing America, to the unsafe
position of, having to rely on other countries - to grow our food.
In my younger days in San Luis Obispo. We were bored too tears and the police
were racist thugs. But, the neighborhoods were ouiet. There was minimal crime
and no traffic or smog. The city was surrounded by farmland,
Now, neighborhoods are subject to constant noise; a good night's sleep. a thing
of the past. Crime has become a daily grind. Traffic has become the norm through-
out the city. The obligatory layer of smog, hanging over the city. Residential
and commercial buildings surround the city. Farmland is now called " omen space
used as a bargaining chip between the " City of San Luis Obispo " and develo_ners.
?"]hat was once called sprawl, is now called " infill - smartgrowth ".
Open space, smartgrowth, just a scam - America loses valuable farmland, the en-
viroment takes a huge hit, San Luis Obispo becomes a more undesirable place to
live - developers make a stack of monen.
The Avila Ranch and Dalidio Ranch, historically have been farms; producing food.
With the proposed destruction of these farms, with development. 7he only thing
that will be produced during; construction, occupation, maintenance - water over-
draft, traffic, smog, sewage, tainted rainwater runoff, light pollution, garbage'/
landfill.
Finally, an alleged housing shortage, does not justify the destruction of
American farmland or enviroment.
Thank you for your time,
