Subject: Planning Commission — re: Avila Ranch Project DEC 12 2016
Dear Commissioners S6® CITY CLERK
I am writing with concerns about the Avila Ranch project, and would appreciate it being included in the record
of your meeting on Wednesday night. In addition to the extraordinary size of the EIR (over 3, 000 pages), many
of us that have requested notification on this issue and not received them, I am requesting that you extend the
period for public comment by at least 30 days.
From early on in the process I have requested three times to be on the notification list — first in email exchange
with Doug Davidson in April 2016. In a later phone conversation with someone else I was told that I had to go
online myself and add my name; when I asked how they were handling non computer users, I got no answer. I
went online and added my name. When I did not receive notice of an Airport Land Use Plan meeting in
September, I again went online and added my name.
We have heard that the City Community Development know they have a problem with their notifications
database. I am troubled that knowing there were many of us that had requested notices, they did not make
arrangements to make sure we got them. Several of my neighbors have the impression that this is being done
intentionally — I think the City needs to make a concerted effort to avoid the appearance of impropriety.
Always for the children
