Dear Planning Commission members,
RECEIVED
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
DEC 14 2016
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I am a citizen of SLO and resident of the Meadows neighborhood off South Higuera. I am writing to you
today to request that you seriously consider long-term solutions for the traffic situation along Los Osos
Valley Road east of 101, S. Higuera between Tank Farm and the proposed Buckley Road Extension to S.
Higuera, and the 227/Broad Street corridor. In particular I am concerned about the existing and
proposed cumulative impacts of development traffic in that region of our beautiful city as it will directly
affect my daily activities and those of countless other citizens. One solution to these concerns is the
advancement of the project to construct the LOVR Bypass that is outlined in the Land Use and
Circulation Element (LUCE) update. This project could go a long way toward solving residual and
upcoming traffic issues with benefits for all modes of transportation. The City will otherwise be adding
significant traffic to these areas without adequate mitigation, making commutes and local trips in the
vicinity more frustrating and time consuming than they already are. Please consider these comments
when you make your decisions regarding future development in the area.
Respectfully,
Jennifer Klay
