I T - Item: From: Eric Norrbom II Sent: Wednesday, December 21, 2016 10:58 AM To: E-mail Council Website <emai]councilL?slocity.org> Subject: PLANNING COMMISSION RECEIVED CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO DEC 2 1 2016 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT I am concerned citizen living in the airport area. I am a licensed pilot, with multi -engine and instrument ratings. I have worked at the SLO airport since 1986. 1 hold an aircraft engine and airframe mechanics license and an FAA inspection authorization ticket. I moved to SLO in 1984. I am raising 3 boys in this airport area. I believe that the ALUC has provided the MUCH needed advice on appropriate development around the airport. The proposed Avila Ranch project is in STARK disagreement to the sensibility of the ALUC and ALL of those citizens that live and work in the airport area. San Luis Obispo Airport has been and MUST continue to be an important asset to the vitality of our city. Any misguided development will jeopardize its future. Please deny any development of the land north of Buckley road. The city needs to take care of the crumbling infrastructure that it already has, not expand and tax existing utilities, roads and create MORE traffic nightmares that are the DAILY REALITY of the Vachell- Higuera area. It seems (in all cases) that the city is always anxious to get the development started without considering the long term DISINTEGRATION of the unique quality of life that we are so desperately trying to PRESERVE! Leave this area as it is, agricultural green belt, watershed, safe zone for potential aircraft "off -field landings".Do NOT allow this to become more unsupported SPRAWL. We are STILL in a game changing drought, and please remember that this region is and continues to be a COASTAL DESERT! Please allow for a 30 day extension to the public comment period, to study the vast EIR, and for failure of proper notification. Thanks for your consideration. Eric Norrbom
