Please support the appeal to overturn the ARC decision re Olive Street Mixed Use Project. 4 stories is too high and will
overwhelm the neighborhood of one and two stories. The modern design is incompatible and degrades the surrounding
businesses including the Heritage Inn which was relocated from Santa Rosa Street.
In addition, no basis is stated for the assertion that the extended stay and commercial uses will not present primarily
simultaneously parking demand. Mixed -use works best with office/residential. Absent restriction to 9-5 use the
commercial will provide services for the residential hotel and nearby area which is predominantly hotel/motel to
include evening uses of dining and entertainment rendering the parking reduction unwarranted.
A desire to point any future development to model this proposed project as discussed by the ARC is not a valid basis for
approval and does not overcome community design guidelines.
As presented this project must be denied.
