A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO APPROVING AN INCREASE
TO THE FEE FOR RESIDENTIAL TEN HOUR METER PERMITS AND
SUPERSEDING INCONSISTENT FEES IN PRIOR RESOLUTIONS
WHEREAS, the City supports the commercial core as a viable economic and cultural
center while preserving its historic character; and
\ryHEREAS, the City supports providing a limited number of parking spaces to
accommodate residential tenants within the Downtown-Commercial (C-D) zone consistent with
the General Plan Land Use Element Policy 4.22 and Housing Element Policy 3.72.4; and
\ryHEREAS, residential parking spaces may be provided in structures or other locations
that are suitable for overnight parking programs; and
\ryHEREAS, monthly fees for such parking spaces shall be adopted by City Council
resolution to financially contribute to the cost of the program; and
\ryHEREAS, the parking program needs to continue to be self-sufhcient for its f,inancial
commitments; and
WHEREAS, the Council considered the staff report and public comment on the increase
to residential 10-hour meter permits and disabled parking fines at a public meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Council decided that fees for 1O-hour residential permits shall have the
same as residential parking district permits,
NO\ry THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo as follows:
SECTIONI. Effective July 1, 2013, residential lO-hour meter permits shall be
increased to $10 a year per permit with two permits maximum per household for qualified
residents with lO-hour meters in front of their residences and no off-street parking in the
downtown core.
