I am all for affordable housing in SLO, but I am concerned about resource
availability (mainly water!) and the potential traffic congestion this size
development may cause on South Higuera Street as well as 227, Buckley Road,
Vachell Lane, and Tank Farm Road. As a South Higuera Street business owner,
more nearby residents could be a good thing. However, if traffic is an issue
for our clients, that would cause many of them to avoid the area. Leaving the
parking lot at peak traffic times is already a problem. Water availability
should be of concern to everyone.
I don't believe this area can handle that size housing development without
addressing those areas prior to construction.
