South Broadway Safety Dear Mayor Harmon and City Council Members, In your meeting this Saturday the 28th of January please consider giving your time and attention to the corridor that is on Broad Street in the 3/4 mile between Broad and South. Yikes, it is so unfriendly to bikes, pets, pedestrians and even to the cars that use it!! I live in the corridor at 652 Mitchell and we hear screeching tires from "near misses" often. Just 2 weeks ago another motorcyclist was injured. We also hear the street being used as a drag strip now and again very late at night... motorbikes roaring. It would really up the quality of this cute neighborhood if we could easily and safely get to the Farmers market at the Grange Hall, stroll over for a lunch at Taste, or walk/bike to other amenities in the 'hood. Lastly, I know there has been much housing built in our South neighborhood zone and another new one is coming over on the land where the Pipe- fitters Union used to be. This adds more daily trips back and forth on Broad Street to get anywhere, which is fine, but please please help it to become safe and pretty for all. Kind Regards, Arnie Richie
