The new dynamic of the City Council is very exciting. I am personally looking forward to the Council taking a fresh look at the City's needs with the eye of looking forward on issues of development, the environment, and the management of our natural resources. As a resident of the downtown south neighborhood since 2000, I've witnessed many, many accidents, jay walkers and all out dangerous driving within the Broad Street Corridor between Orcutt and South Street. I've participated in the numerous Cal Trans community meetings discussing the addition of medians, noise reduction paving, cross walks, and stop lights over the years to try and create a safer, more neighborhood friendly street and am hopeful that progress can be made from the input the resident's of our neighborhood have provided on life saving improvement that could be made. Additionally, our neighborhood is one of the gateways into the City from our growing airport. We should strive to give it as much attention as we do the other gateways to our City and make it a beautiful experience for new comers to the downtown as well as safe for residents. Please place priority on implementing the South Broad Street Area Plan, projects 1 and 2. My neighbors and I waited a long time for these much needed improvements. Thank you, Michelle McCovey-Good Gail Place San Luis Obispo, CA
