Subject: ARC / 71 Palomar Ave. project
Dear Chairman Wynn and Committee members,
011
RECEIVED
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
JAN 3 0 2017
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We are very disturbed that the subject development will be approved without any regard for the Sandford House, the 55 trees
and in violation of the city LUCE policies which provide that the city promotes reuse efforts that contribute positively to existing
neighborhoods.
This project is too large in scale and massing for the adjacent neighborhood.
We, as long time residents of Palomar Ave, would welcome a reasonable housing project on this site that would be more
compatible with the surrounding neighborhood.
The 71 Palomar property is too valuable to allow it to be developed for student housing when that should be the responsibility
of Cal Poly.
A smaller development that does not require relocation of the historic Sandford house and its surrounding trees would be
more appropriate for neighborhood wellness.
Sincerely,
Tess and Dan Matthews
