We are collectively all tenants at University Square in San Luis Obispo. We currently enjoy the benefits
of our newly remodeled space and the support of the local community. For that we are very
appreciative. We are however, greatly concerned about the new, recently approved project at 22
Chorro directly across Foothill Blvd. Today, our center Is busy and already suffers from neighboring
residents parking on our site. The parking lot is impacted and is difficult for our customers to find
convenient parking. Our landlord, NKT University Square, LLC has already instituted a ticketing and tow
policy for Infringing nearby residents who use the parking lot as either a convenient and inexpensive
day -park place while they go to school or overnight parking from their nearby apartments. Additionally,
some of these same parking violators use the rear drive aisles as a short cut to avoid traffic traveling at
an unsafe rate of speed through the parking lot. The landlord is installing speed bumps to try to
mitigate safety concerns. 22 Chorro, as currently approved, is significantly deficient on its parking and
will force those future residents to find an alternative parking space. Since University Square will be the
most convenient, we are gravely concerned that the impact of illegal parking from those same residents
on our site will affect our ability to continue operating successfully as business owners.
Please reconsider your position on the parking required for 22 Chorro. This is an Important safety issue.
