There are so many issues to discuss regarding the 22 Chorro project and why it is not a good project for the property but we will just address the neighborhood wellness aspect. Due do to inadequate parking allowed for this property the surrounding neighborhood and the adjoining streets will be heavily impacted. The project violates the San Luis Obispo city General Plan and LUCE to place undue burden on an existing neighborhood. Why has the city allowed this property to go forward in the process of approval when there have been numerous oral and written arguments to show evidence of violations of the General Plan and LUCE? The previous city council was heavily influenced by staff input. The citizens of SLO have been diligent presenting facts opposing the project at every advisory body meeting only to be put down by warnings from city staff to commisioners with the exception of the planning commission that recognized the serious problems imposed by the project in question. You have the power given to you by SLO citizens to be selective when approving new projects. There will be other developers that will present more suitable housing or commercial options for this unique site in the future. Please uphold the appeal; we are counting on all of you on the city council to do the right thing for the existing neighborhood. Tess and Dan Matthews San Luis Obispo, CA
