Subject: Re: 22 Chorro
To Mayor Harmon and City Council members
I have been a resident of the neighborhood near 22 Chorro for about 7 years. I
have loved the spirit of the neighborhood's culture and character. It seems if
everyone is always willing to help out a neighbor. I walk a lot in the neighborhood
and have liked that the density of traff is has not been too great. However, over
the past several years as new developments have been built on Foothill Blvd, I
have noticed an increase in traffic patterns.
Increased traffic and lack of onsite parking are two of my major concerns about
the proposed development at 22 Chorro:
22 Chorro: Safety, Health, Welfare Concerns
-The lack of traffic studies of the development's effect on traffic at the corner of
Foothill and Chorro.
-The effect of increased traffic at and near the corner of Foothill and Chorro on the
safety of pedestrians, bicyclists, and motor vehicles.
-The lack of sufficient onsite parking and it's negative effects on the welfare of nearby
homes and businesses AND on the future tenants.
Our neighborhood will not be the same if 22 Chorro is turned into a four story
"edifice" with ZERO setbacks on Foothill Blvd and the builder is allowed to turn
"two" bedrooms into "four" bedrooms which equals twice as many people!
I respectfully ask that you reconsider your approval of this onerous project as it
will definitely have a negative effect on the residents and property owners.
Thank you for your consideration.
