The 22 Chorro project clearly has flaws which need to be re- reviewed. This project's insufficient on-site parking is based on a plan that student residents will use bicycles and/or buses for transportation. However it is well known that even though students may use other forms of transportation, THEY STILL OWN CARS which must be parked somewhere! This is very evident as I live on a street near Valencia apartments and even though our portion of the street is in a parking district at night -- there are frequently numerous cars parked there illegally and left for 2 to 3 days at a time. It's not unusual to see 2 or 3 parking tickets on windshields because the student owners haven't bothered to move, or check on their cars for SEVERAL DAYS! This is a perfect example of what happens when large housing projects don't provide ample parking for their residents. In addition, the height and mass of this project does not compliment the neighboring residential area --NOR is it even compatible with the existing surrounding commercial development. This proposed project is massive and situated on an already extremely busy and potentially dangerous intersection—which is also near a Fire Station. The combination of additional bicycle and vehicular traffic associated with the 22 chorro project significantly impacts the health and safety of everyone. Thank you for your consideration of our concerns, Jody Vollmer—San Luis Obispo I
