Subject: Chorro Street Appeal
Reconsider this development as the project will strongly and negatively affect the safety,
health, and welfare of the community within it is now entering. This Anholm community has
struggled with traffic and parking since 1982 when I first bought my home on Murray. With
the increasing rentals and student population of 6 to a house, it has multiplied and has
become a difficult place to drive. And this is with bicycles. The intersection of Foothill and
Chorro is a congested one. The lack of a traffic study is appalling as we had one done in the
neighborhood to slow traffic and after going through speed bumps we now have stop signs
and this was after a traffic study.
Why was one not requested?
There is very little parking available at the Ferrini Square and across the street at the newly
developed shopping center. It is congested and difficult to find a space and at times to even
enter the parking lot at these two areas. Adding a new development such as this one comes
in without adequate parking, will create chaos. Everyone will suffer. I suggest the council
require the developer to provide adequate parking for both these proposed businesses and
rentals as you would anywhere else. Bicycles are used in addition to having a car. I don't
want it in front of a neighbors house when it should be in the parking lot of the apartment of
the rental.
Reguire the developer provide adequate parking spaces for both the businesses and rentals.
