Subject: 4/4/17 APPEAL 71 PALOMAR - Resident Appeal
SLO City Council,
My husband and I reside on Serrano Drive. We purchased a home 3 years ago on Serrano based on the beauty
of the neighborhood and the fact that it has a quiet neighborhood feel. We walk our dog daily on Serrano,
Palomar and Luneta and relish the quiet and family safe environment. We enjoy the ability to have access to our
local grocery, pharmacy and restaurants with a short walk or drive with limited traffic or congestion. We love
the ability for our neighbors at the Villages to walk and travel freely in the neighborhood without concern of
traffic speeds or congestion.
Our only current concern is the parking on Palomar, Luneta and Ramona, streets we avoid when driving.
However, with the Broad Street bicycle boulevard project, we will be relegated to using Palomar and Ramona
much more frequently that we do today. We are VERY CONCERNED about parking as well as traffic
volumes and speeds that will be added with the 71 Palomar proposed development and our limited ability to
avoid the area.
The addition of 146 residents and only 63 parking spaces, including guest parking should be accessed with a
traffic and parking study. We can not believe this will not cause major negative impact of the surrounding
streets.
Please consider the appeal of the existing neighbors before impacting all our lives negatively, creating a further
divide between students and home owners and limiting our senior neighbors ability to freely walk and drive
safely.
Respectfully,
Susan & Erik Steeb
