Subject: 71 Palomar, historic Sanford House
Continue our legacy, please do not allow this site to be destroyed. It is not only a historic part of our neighborhood but
important to the historic character of our town. This Italian Renaissance 1890 house is an important example of Italian
Renaissance architecture. The developer says no harm in repositioning Sanford house. But moving the house
would disqualify it from consideration on the national registry. Historic homes are very important to the character of
our town. This development will destroy Sanford House built by Chauncey Phillips who was a partnered with R..E. Jack of
our historic Jack House. The careful planning of our town earning placement on top ten towns, didn't just happen it took
planning and preservation. Our beautiful historic town should not be trumped by out of town developers turning us into
student dominated Isla Vista with ugly unplanned urban sprawl of LA. These developers need to find a larger lot that
has ample space for parking for 100 cars and space for big buildings. This lack of parking creates an unsafe impact into
out carefully planned quiet safe neighborhoods. The developers will make a short term profit leaving us with long term
problems. City planners keep saying the developers have property rights but we voting residences have rights too. We
have the right to healthy and safe neighborhoods as stated in the same State law. Elizabeth DeHaan
