Thank you. Dear Mayor Harmon and City Council Members, When my husband and I moved here 11 years ago I saw a sign that declared San Luis Obispo as Tree City, U.S.A. I was impressed that the City and it’s citizens would take an active stand to protect and nurture it’s trees. It made me proud to be a new resident of such a city. Another quality of San Luis Obispo I cherish are it’s historic homes and properties. I live about a 10 minute walk from the Sandford House at 71 Palomar and enjoy walking there often. The house and property are magnificent. It’s a hilltop gem in the rough, and there is potential to develop this property that would safeguard against significant loss of it’s importance and beauty. Unfortunately, the current proposed development is not respectful to the landscape and the historic and culture significance of the house and propriety. And, I would like to go further..this proposed development of 71 Palomar is not respectful of and compatible with what San Luis Obispo citizens stand for and cherish about their City. I believe if the appeal is denied the lost will be felt by most not only now, but also in the future. Please protect and up hold what the majority of residents value about our City. Please support the appeal. Thank you, Kit Gould SLO 1
